- Camden. NJ: Charles Wellford Leavitt and Son, 1928
Camden. NJ: Charles Wellford Leavitt and Son, 1928. Cloth. Near Fine. Handsome 1928 brochure --in its pleasing green cloth-- laying out the charms and potential growth of Camden County, New Jersey, today best known --sadly-- for the blight and urban decay dogging the city of Camden itself, arguably New Jersey's grittiest location. The brochure, a credible, well-made, pre-Depression attempt by landscape architect Charles Wellford Leavitt (1871-1928) to attract buyers and investors to Camden County on the strength of its scenic beauty and potential, is clean and Near Fine, with sepia photographs, plans and aerials throughout. Oblong folio, beautifully peserved. Truly a collector's copy.
