Octavo (22.2cm); [viii],334pp. Photo-illustrated dust jacket with $2.50 price intact; boards in tan buckram with dark brown lettering. Jacket edgeworn with closed tears at folds and a small chip at head of spine, along with an old pencil price on rear flap and some general smudging and scuffing. Boards are square with bumping at spine ends. Topstain largely faded away. A couple instances of pencil brackets in margins, else interior unmarked. Opens easily between a few gatherings, but binding is sound.

In her 1941 Suggestions for a Trade Union Library, Orlie Pell summarizes "Factual material on the history of labor in California from the gold rush to the current struggle of migratory workers to organize against exploitation by industrialized agriculture."
