Facio Duillier (probably Nicolas Fatio de Duillier) on accurately calculating the Sun's parallax - a key issue in solving the "Longitudinal Problem". The questions being sketch out here by Duillier were later published in an article for Miscellanea curiosa mathematica (vol. II, no. 1; 1745) entitled: "Four theorems, with their demonstration, for determining accurately the sun's parallax".
