By Franklin Wilmer Ward
New York: Frederick M. Waterbury, 1932. Very Good/Very Good. New York: Frederick M. Waterbury, 1932. First Edition. Signed by Ward to Lieutenant Colonel J. Tabor Loree at front free endpaper, "In affectionate remembrance of a close comradeship along the Rio Grande, in South Carolina and on the British front in the Great War." Octavo. 284pp. Illustrated dust jacket. Olive boards stamped in red; topstain. Dust jacket rather chipped along edges with some surface scratching. Boards show light shelfwear and a touch sunned along edges. Binding sound and pages unmarked; a Very Good copy. Ward served during the Spanish-American War, the Mexican Border War, and WWI (the Great War), and this late-career memoir references the two parades a soldier experiences when going to war - marching off to war, and marching home again. Scarce both in jacket and signed.
