Mountain View, CA: Pacific Press Publishing Association, 1951. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good+. First Edition. Hardcover. Publishers', or booksellers', dummies are special sample copies of books issued to canvassers, showing sample pages, illustrations, bindings, etc. Their pagination rarely matches that of the actual book to be sold. They are unique in that, they are different depending on the publisher's designs. They feature attractive aspects of the book, in this case, a volume set, with engraving prints, type set, and paper samples.
This volume includes various home remedies and home health care instruction. Includes chapters on basic physiology, exercise, nutrition, diseases--albeit sample sections. Quite interesting to the volume during Cold War era, a section on first aid emergencies including nuclear fallout, atom bomb blasting survival. A rare example of home health featuring 1950s aesthetics and situations, with the alternative binding cloth pasted on the rear board in green.
