- Washington:: Blair & Rives,, 1846
Pamphlet, 8vo, wrappers, uncut, 13 pp. Some chips and small tears along edges, slight soiling and browning, slight crease on title page, notation on title, mostly on the back of it; otherwise, good or better. Orlando B. Ficklin (1808-1886) was a loyal Democrat who served in the House, and despite their political differences appears to have been considered a friend of President Lincoln. Still, a couple of days after the Lincoln assassination he was arrested for a few months. The Oregon question was essentially an ownership issue concerning the Pacific Northwest with Great Britain. It was resolved with the Oregon Treat of 1846. OCLC.
