A judicial theme advertising brochure for The Bengal Stove, sold by the Levin Furniture Company of Port Jervis, NY. Throughout the brochure, it precedes to make its "case" as to why Bengal stoves are superior and have "emancipated so many women form kitchen slavery". Both the Prize Bengal Stove and the Supreme Bengal Stove are advertised, and to keep up with the the theme, the brochure often makes such remarks as "All the evidence is in favor of the prize Bengal" and "This is the case to be judged". There are two color illustrations of a woman in a green dress wearing a black judge's robe, as well as four (mostly) black and white illustrations of the different Bengal stoves. While sold by the Levin Furniture Company, the Bengal Stove was manufactured by the Floyd Wells Company from Royserford, PA, which was in business from the 1890s until the 1940s. 6 part folded brochure, double sided.
