By W. G. Marshall
London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, & Rivington, 1881. Very Good. London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, & Rivington, 1881. Second Edition. Large octavo (23 cm); 424pp+36ads. Black and white illus. throughout. Boards full bound in red cloth with gilt pictorial stamping. Black endsheets. Boards generally scuffed and dust soiled with bumping to edges and corners and minor loss to spine ends. Spine sunned and joints rubbed and worn. Starting at endsheets but binding firm. Half-title includes inscription "H. L. Vaughan/ From the Author/ 1884." Pages lightly foxed throughout. A Very Good copy of Marshall's record of two trips taken across the U.S. in 1878 and 1879. Apparently the author loved Chicago and needed to talk about Mormonism for about 90 pages.
