Heavy D. and Digital Underground had recently released Big Tyme and Sex Packets respectively, both of which went Platinum in the US. Public Enemy was touring on Fear of a Black Planet, which would go on to be recognized as one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. A well-designed piece advertising a stacked lineup.
