A Remembrancer, Confirmation Certificate of Christina "Christi" Ann Minor

A certificate commemorating Christina "Christi" Ann Minor's (1822-1912) confirmation and becoming a Communicant Member of the Evangelic Lutheran Church in Leitersburg, MD. The church was founded in 1826, and is still in existence today under the name "St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church". The certificate has a large decorative border and has been filled out by John P. Cline, who the church's Minister from 1833-1846. The top half contains two sections, entitled "The Way to Heaven" and "The Way to Hell". Each section has five points, which are made by bible versus. For example, under the way to hell, 'Indifference' is the first item, and it states "And they consider not in their hears that I remember all their wickedness. Hosea VII. 2". Printer: William D. Bell from Hagerstown, MD. Single sided. Measures 10" x 7 3/4" Christina "Christi" Ann Minor was born on March 10, 1822 to John Minor (1790-1847) and Phoebe Burkhart (1793-1854) in Leitersburg, MD. She had numerous siblings: Francis "Frank" Minor (1813-1901), William Minor (1816-1889), John Burkhart Minor (1817-1896), George Minor (1819-1878), Catherine Minor (1821-1890), Jacob Minor (1824-1898), David Minor (1825-1905), Washington A. Minor (1827-1845), Henrietta Minor Hovis (1831-1882), Lewis C. Minor, 1832-1864, Oliver S. Minor (1835-1910), and Henry Clay Minor (1838-1870). She married William Anderson (1827-1892) and had three children: Mary E. Anderson (1852-1935), Freeland W. Anderson (1854-1929), and Flora A. Anderson Miller (1860-?). She died on October 11, 1912.
