The official magazine of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, The Crisis, here with its original subtitle, was originally founded a year after the formation of the NAACP and edited by W.E.B. DuBois. This issue was published under the stewardship of its second editor, Roy Wilkins, and features articles on the Vietnamese struggle for independence, a profile of HBCU Wilberforce University, and an "Along the NAACP Battlefront" feature. Issues from this era scarce in retail.
