The cover is worn, with loss on the reverse at the bottom of the spine; With a foreward to the Sunday School teachers by Joseph H. Dulles. and numerous short stories with illustrations to aid in literacy and basic Christian teachings. 32pp. Good.~~Inscribed on the cover and a few pages with in. Inside and back covers name the previous owner of the primer as “Philip Howell Brooke”, listing his name and February 20th for 3 successive years beginning in 1881, likely by his teacher. Philip charmingly scribbled below this and on the page for “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”, showing his excitement to learn to read. ~~.
