SIGNED. 245pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] Light brown cloth over boards, with a silver stamped title on the spine and front board. Publisher's blue topstain. In a price-clipped dust jacket, with a small stain to the front panel, several minor chips, and a short closed tear along the bottom edge of the rear panel. Ex-libris artist Regina Lunt Dodge (1879-1959), with her bookplate on the front pastedown. A historical re-estimation of Augustine. Inscribed by the author to Regina Hunt Lodge, in the year of publication, on the front free endpaper: "Dear Regina - Here is our Augustine, / with (?) remembrance of your part / in its making. Love, / Haniel / Sta Fe Jan 11, 1950." With a 2-page TMS (in the form of a poem) mounted to the front free endpaper, with manuscript corrections. Haniel Long has inscribed the area below the poem: "for Regina, from Haniel / and some months later revised / for Regina, from Haniel / Nov 1, 1951.
