Boards full bound in dark sand cloth with dark brown and gilt stamping to spine and front board, wrapped in publisher's pictorial cover with price intact ($2.00). Dark top stain and fore-edge deckled. Jacket creased, rubbed, scuffed, as well as lightly worn at extremities with toning to spine and back panel. Previous owner tape repair to verso. Boards bumped and rubbed at spine ends and corners with minor pen marks to spine and front board. Top stain faded and binding cocked but firm. All pages lightly toned but clean. Previous owner nameplate to first pastedown. A Very Good or better copy in Very Good jacket.

Shaw's third play, this copy owned by Edith Morgan Hoffenstein, wife of Samuel Hoffenstein. Samuel was a screenwriter for Paramount and 20th Century Fox during the late 30s and early 40s, including writing on The Wizard of Oz.
