SIGNED. 534pp. Octavo [22 cm] Red cloth over boards, with a gilt stamped title against a black ink stamped background on the spine. Black and white map endpapers. Illustrated frontispiece by Ernest L. Blumenschein. The spine ends are just a trifle bruised. In the dust jacket, with multiple small closed and open tears in the edges, a paperclip indentation along the top edge, and a minor abrasion to the rear panel (effacing a couple of words). The history of New Mexico and Arizona during the formative years between the American Occupation and the coming of the railroad. Inscribed by the author on the recto of the frontispiece: "Inscribed to my good friend / ____ / with assurance of high regard- / William A. Keleher / Albuquerque N.M. / Feb 2 - 1959.
