Quarto, in plum colored paper-covered boards back in black buckram with titling in gilt to the spine; vi, 332 pages, including the Index; with 14 unnumbered leaves of plates, including a map as frontispiece, and portraits; the corners are bumped; the boards have some staining, and the spine has some surface loss from silverfish.~~This rather uncommon book is noted in the Nevins bibliography as “[a] solitary study; [it] emphasizes the importance of the soldier vote, notably in the 1864 re-election of Lincoln”.
