Georg Groddeck was a pioneer in the field of psychosomatic medicine and an important figure in the psychoanalytic movement. He was a contemporary of Sigmund Freud, who was influenced by Groddeck's writings on the Id (though the two ultimately disagreed on definition and limitations).
