Unrecorded Reconstruction Era broadside dated Oct. 29, 1866, regarding a strayed or stolen bay mare "with Black mane and Tail, with a little white on one of her feet. She is about 9 years old, a little lame in front, and weighs about 1,000 pounds." The broadside promises $25 to whoever returns the mare if she has been stolen, and "if Strayed away, the person returning her or giving reliable information, will be liberally rewarded." Signed in text by Hall & Rollins, local businessmen and subscribers to the local newspaper the "Herald and Torch Light."
