Self Endowment for Women" -- Advertising Life Insurance Policies for Women c.1905
- Springfield, Massachusetts: The Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, 1905
Springfield, Massachusetts: The Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, 1905. Very good. Light toning, dust soiling/discoloration.. A printed booklet advertising insurance policies specifically to women in the early 1900s, noting outright the prejudice against women in the industry at the time: "Some companies do not insure the lives of women. Some companies charge a higher premium for women than for men. The MASSACHUSETTS MUTUAL does not discriminate against women in its policy contracts. It insures women whose lives have a well-defined insurable value, such as single women holding property in their own right or engaged in business, or who are otherwise self-supporting, and widows desirous of insuring for the benefit of their dependent children" (p.[2]). Single vol. (5" by 3.5"), pp. [8], stapled in original printed wrps with light green decorative border.
