England, 1854. Very good. Light dust soiling. Light toning, dust soiling, damage to extremities.. A finely produced 10.5" paper doll from England, hand cut with original pencil and watercolor artwork by an unnamed artist. "Fannie" is a stylish Englishwoman with auburn hair and brown eyes who wears the latest Continental fashions Note the fine work on the doll with fine facial features and hair. The detail on the hands includes a ring on her pointer finger. She, and several of the outfits, are labeled in neat ink on the verso with the dates (1853 and 1854). In total, there are twelve (12) costumes (one morning dress, two afternoon dresses, one evening costume, one walking costume, one "Silk Basque", and one "White Basque"). There are two hats/hairs (one summer hat, and one blue bonnet). There are five additional outfits that appear to have been made on different, later card with similar artwork, both lacking the original artist's labeling on the verso. An exceptional watercolor paper doll.
