Vizovice: OWK, 1996. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine in Near Fine Dustjacket. First Edition. Hardcover. "The Other World Kingdom (frequently abbreviated OWK) is a large, commercial BDSM and femdom facility, resort, and formerly a micronation, which opened in 1996 using the buildings and grounds of a 16th-century chateau located in the municipality of erná in Ž ár nad Sázavou District, Czech Republic. Although not recognized by any other country, it maintains its own currency, passports, police force, courts, state flag, and state hymn. The site is 3 hectares (7.4 acres) in area, with several buildings, and a 250-meter (820 ft) oval track, small lake and grassed lawns. The main building was the Queen's Palace, which was the residence of the monarch, and contains a banqueting hall, library, throne room, torture chamber, schoolroom, gym, and extensive basement prison, the cells of which could be hired. Additional visitor accommodation is provided in the Long House, including the Countess Elizabeth Báthory Chambers complete with two torture chambers. This building also contains a swimming pool, pub, restaurant, and the Wanda Nightclub. The outdoor facilities are supplemented by a sawdust-covered indoor riding hall and stables." This book, according to www[dot]maennerschwarm[dot]de SM catalog: "The complete draft of a heterosexual SM state: description, constitution, various legal texts with an abundance of imaginative punishments. In addition, a series of photo series by René Sykora: an elaborately made catalog." According to Headlines 31 ( www[dot]schlagzeilen[dot]com): "We have long awaited the publications of TOW and OWK (The Other World Kingdom) with critical tension. Now they are available to us and we can confirm that they are different from many other things on the market of erotic dreams, both the book and the magazine are lovingly made with a lot of imagination for details. The book describes on over 250 colored pages life in the kingdom "the other world", where women rule and men only as Slaves, servants, convicts and objects of female pleasure are welcome. Detailed and meticulous rituals, tax systems, jurisdiction, allocation of state slaves etc. are described and illustrated in large-format photos. That these are almost always the same eight to ten dominatrixes and slaves, hardly catches the eye. This kingdom is a clearly commercial company that may try to pull the money out of their pockets (but we can only guess), but it does not detract from the ideas and images." The book, effectively a sophisticated marketing piece for a particular clientel, is genuinely scarce to the market. This is the best copy we've seen and the first in about a decade. Minimal shelf/edge wear, else tight, bright, and unmarred; glossy photographic DJ. Paper boards. 4to. 250pp. Illus. (color plates).
