Washington, DC, 1900. Very Good. Washington, DC: 1900-1980. Collection comprised of twenty-four (24) menus ranging from small broadsides to 8pp. ribbon-bound folios. Moderate wear to most examples, as well as the occasional coffee, chocolate, or wine stain--one New Year's Eve menu is especially wine sloshed, but we're not here to judge. Overall a Very Good collection. Complete list available upon request.

Documenting eighty years of gustatory inclinations of the powerful and the power-adjacent. The collection most robustly represents the hotel restaurants of the District, including the New Willard, the Mayflower, the Madison, and the Hilton. Highlights include three menus from the New Willard's weekend program for the National Capital Horse Show of 1911; gouty 1960s-era New Year's Eve prix fixe menus from The Madison (oysters, pheasant, filet mignon, lobster); and an attractively designed 1970s-era menu from the historic seafood establishment Christiana Campbell's Tavern.
