Later tan buckram, red and black lettering pieces, black-stamped fillets and number "1" and residue from library label to spine, endpapers renewed. Light soiling and shelfwear, very faint library stamps to boards and edges of text block, joints starting at head, lettering pieces partially abraded. Some toning to interior, chips and edgewear to fore-edges of first several leaves, small clean tears to edges in several places with no loss to text, negligible light soiling to a few pages. A good copy of a rare title in commerce. $650. * Only edition. This is the only volume of a projected three-volume set. Its author, a distinguished (and thus busy) New York City lawyer, later master in chancery in Montgomery County, New York, wasn't able to find the time to complete this "exhaustive compilation." Despite its limitation to entries from A to E, it is an incredibly rich trove of information. It remains a valuable reference today.
