Stratford, Connecticut: Tilo Roofing Company, 1930. Good. Water staining, a couple pinholes.. A promotional booklet for Tilo brand shingles and siding, featuring a rosy and idealized image of an American family in front of their country house. Markets the products as beautiful, durable, lasting, and cost-effective. Includes color images of the products. Note the inclusion of Asbestos siding. An interesting view into how construction materials were marketed to American families at this time. Single vol. (4.25" by 7"), pp. [24], illus., in original illus. self wrps. Note the way the 1934 Federal Housing Act is used to promote this company's products. The Act made it possible for struggling Americans to afford homes during the Great Depression. It was a New Deal law.
