Worcester: Stanbrook Abbey Press, 1957. Fine. A finely printed collection of 15 poems printed for Christmas. First printed in 1956, this is a reissue from the following year. The lyrics are edited and modernized from the original versions by the Benedictines of Stanbrook & printed in England at the Stanbrook Abbey Press. The poems within "span the whole mystery of God-made-man from the Annunciation to the Passion and beyond to the Blessed Eucharist and the mystical union of Christ with man's soul and the Church. The poems have been transcribed into modern English except where an archaic word is necessary for the rhyme or where the sense is clear from the context. A simple glossary together with the sources will be found in the Appendix" (preface).

Bound in full limp vellum with red ribbon laced through boards. Gilt title to spine. Beautifully printed with hand-drawn colored initials and one illuminated initial. The text is printed in red and black. Clean and bright. Small penned gift inscription dated 1957 to front pastedown. Housed in a brown paper covered slipcase.
