By Bradshaw, Cathrine A.
New York: Noble and Noble. Near Fine. (c.1925, 1926). Unstated edition. Hardcover. (decorated cloth; no dust jacket, possibly as issued) [nice clean copy with only minor shelfwear]. I don't think you need much more than the subtitle to tell you what this book is all about: "Containing the Questions usually asked of Aliens applying for Citizenship Papers, -- together with their Answers and other valuable information for those interested in Americanization work." The book was written, per the Preface, "for the stranger from abroad who comes to America to begin life once more, and also for our own native-born Americans who wish to know more about their country, its government, and its ideals." ("Americanization work," by the way, seems to refer to the teaching of classes for aspiring citizens, educational efforts in which -- judging by her titles -- the author was apparently involved.) The book also exists in a "New York Edition," co-authored by one Ignus O. Hornstein. ***This book is among the nearly 150 items offered in ReadInk's new Catalog Number 4, "Booking Passage: Books on the Immigrant Experience."
