By Carmichael, Hoagy, with Stephen Longstreet
New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Fair in Very Good dj. 1965. First Edition. Hardcover. [a sharp-looking copy, the book itself externally nice and clean with no discernible wear, but don't be fooled, there is a LOT (and I mean a LOT) of red-ink underlining throughout the text, plus notes by a previous reader on the rear endpapers, and a previous owner's name on the front pastedown; the jacket is also quite nice-looking, with just a bit of soiling on the rear panel and a tiny closed tear and associated short crease at the bottom of the front panel, but it's also been internally tape-reinforced along the top edge and at the base of the spine]. (B&W photographs) Autobiography of the "lawyer, piano player, singer, composer, star of motion pictures, radio and television." (I can't help it -- to me he'll always be "Cricket.") PLEASE NOTE the presence of extensive underlining in red ink throughout the book, which render it essentially a reading/reference copy only -- and only if you can tolerate all that underlining. .
