Romantic Museum at the Hugo Gallery: Portraits of Women -- Constructions and Arrangements by Joseph Cornell
- Decorative Wrappers
- New York: The Hugo Gallery, 1946
New York: The Hugo Gallery, 1946. Decorative Wrappers. Near Fine. Very uncommon catalogue based on the December 1946 Joseph Cornell exhibition at New York's Hugo Gallery. A clean, Near Fine single card sheet, folded evenly in half to make up 4 pgs. and then again folded evenly in thirds for mailing purposes. Includes 3 pristine tipped-in photographic "Portraits of Women" (one an "unknown" woman {from "The Crysyal Cage"}, one a young girl { a "Penny Arcade Portrait of Laurel Bacall"} and one a doll ("Bebe Maria"}). The year 1946 handwritten on the front cover. Quarto, a beguiling and fascinating catalogue, just like the artist it celebrates.
