Mexico: Imprenta de Antonio Vanegas Arroyo, 1910. Good. Mexico: Imprenta de Antonio Vanegas Arroyo, n.d. [ca. 1910]. Pictorial broadsheet (29x20cm); text and illustrations printed within thick black mourning border. Stock unevenly darkened and quite brittle with long shallow losses to top and bottom margins slightly touching imprint without loss of meaning. A Good example only.

Penny newsletter describing horrific flooding in several Mexican states causing nearly 15,000 pesos in losses and killing a woman and child--the recto is adorned with a woodcut of the drowned woman. A similarly-titled broadsheet was also published by Vanegas Arroyo adorned with a different woodcut attributed to Jose Guadalupe Posada depicting the destruction of a village. Our version, however, mentions in the drop title that the flooding also caused a train to sink into the Rio Hondo, killing the conductor.
