Later pebbled cloth, gilt institutional name and seal to boards, gilt title to spine, endpapers renewed. Moderate rubbing and light shelfwear to extremities, front joint starting, chipping to head of spine, spine ends and corners bumped and lightly worn, library bookplate and small shelf label to front pastedown, annotation attributing the work to "N. Atcheson" to verso of front free endpaper. Light toning to interior, ink library stamps to title page and several other leaves, crack in text block between pp. 280-281, all leaves secure. Struck-through presentation inscription "From the Editor" to head of title page. $125. * Churcher's College was founded in 1722 to educate and train local boys for service in the East India Company. The school still operates as a private co-educational day school today.
