V.p., v.d.. Sammelband. Octavo (22.5cm); cloth covers, containing eleven bound pamphlets, offprints, and extracts. Thin cracks to endpapers at front hinge; one bound article trimmed close at bottom edge; a sound, Very Good volume.
Moir (1870-1937) was a leading figure in the insurance industry both in his native Great Britain and in the United States, to which he emigrated in 1901. He was President of the United States Life Insurance Company ("U.S. Life") from 1922 to 1936. He was also a noted bibliophile, especially known for his exptertise on Robert Burns. This volume, apparently bound for Moir himself, contains ten of his own actuarial works, including:
