Gilt lettering on each spine, and a title label (in Mandarin Chinese) on each front board. Gilt edges, which are sporadically, lightly scratched. All in a clothbound clamshell, which is decorated with an illustrated label and gilt stamped title (in English) on the front and another title label (in Mandarin) and gilt stamped subtitle (in English) on the spine. There is a small patch of subtle darkening to the cloth on the front of the clamshell.

Volume I is entirely composed of essays and descriptive text, while Volume II contains full-color reproductions of the afore described paintings.
