SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY (1971). First Edition of Araki's first photo book, preceding all others. SIGNED by Araki in black marker on the front wrapper verso, with a drawing. Text in Japanese. Considered by many to be among Araki's most groundbreaking and intimate works, a collection of photographs taken while on honeymoon with his wife Yoko in Yanagawa on Kyushu Island in Japan.
SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY 2: OKINAWA EDITION (1971). First Edition of the author's second self-published photo book, one of 1000 copies. SIGNED and with a drawing in black marker on the front wrapper.
TOKYO (1973). First Edition of Araki's third photo book, one of 1000 copies. INSCRIBED in the year of publication from Nobuyoshi Araki to Nobuaki Sakamoto on the front endpaper. A collection of photographs of women masturbating, each image presented just below a photograph of Tokyo crowds waiting for the traffic light to change at crosswalks.
All three volumes Near Fine in lightly rubbed, perfect-bound wrappers. Each volume housed separately in a custom folding box with bone clasps.
