Second edition of an autobiography, with preface by Harriet Beecher Stowe, penned by the wife of an early Mormon leader and missionary. Fanny Warn Stenhouse (1829-1904), was excommunicated from the LDS Church alongside her husband in 1870, after which they both became vocal opponents of Brigham Young and the LDS Church's practice of plural marriage. The book presents a frank account of Stenhouse's lived experience. Second edition, first published in 1874. Single vol. (9". by 6"), pp. xxx, [31]-623, with frontispiece and in-text line-drawn illustrations depicting the scenes in the book, in original green cloth stamped in blind and gold.
