Washington, N.J.: Levi Longcor, 1865. Unbound. Near Fine. Albumen print carte de visite. Image measures 2¼" x 3½" on slightly larger single-ruled card. Photographer identified on verso. Portrait of two unidentified men, one seated and holding a long rifle upright; the other standing, wearing a medal, and holding an American flag. Both men lacking their left arms. Considering the ge of the men in the image, and the martial accoutremonts they bear, it seems reasonable to assume that both men lost a limb in the Civil War. A highly unusual image.
