Offsetting and slight foxing to prelims and back-matter, else a tight, clean, Very Good or better copy in the scarce original dustwrapper, rubbed at folds with a small loss at heel, slightly darkened on spine panel, still easily Very Good. Presentation inscription on front endpaper from Scottish historian William Douglas Simpson to a Robert Murdoch Laurance to the noted antiquary Robert Murdoch Lawrance, dated 1924.

A distinguished copy, from the library of scholar-bookseller William Wreden, with his printed bookplate inside front cover. History of the Ballantyne Press, best known as the publisher of Sir Walter Scott. Includes a selective bibliography of the Press's work through the 19th century. Quite uncommon in dustwrapper.
