Beverly Hills CA: Past Times Publishing Co.. Very Good. (c.1994). First Edition. Softcover. [some wear at edges and corners, small tear in bottom edge of front cover, bump and slight damage at upper front hinge]. (Vintage Comedy Series) Series Trade PB (B&W photographs, facsimiles) INSCRIBED to friends and SIGNED on the title page by "Sir Frederick Gas"/Earl Bennett (using both names) and an additional person (probably his wife) signing as "Lady Gas" + a name I can't quite make out, possibly Roxanne; Bennett has also added a helpful note that "you'll find me in the index at pg. 403" -- as indeed you will, with a total of nearly 50 references (some of which also appear under "Gas"). This is a "revised and expanded" edition of the definitive book on the wacky Spike Jones and his City Slickers orchestra, originally published in 1984 under a slightly different title. Earl Bennett, in his wild-haired "Sir Frederick Gas" incarnation, was with the group from 1947 to 1954; he appears in numerous photos in the book, and narrates a 9-page chapter called "Vantage Point: Earl Bennett." Includes; chronology; short biographies of all the prominent band members; discography; filmography; radiography; videography; bibliography; and more! Signed by Associated .
