By [ART][EROTICA] HAYASHI, Yoshifumi
Paris: Club du Livre Secret, 1982. First Trade Edition. Octavo. 21cm. Publisher's black faux leather titled in gilt to spine and front board. 115pp.; [1]. Some very minor bumping to the extremities, strong and tight; internally clean, text in French, German, English and Japanese. A very good, bright copy.

Hayashi has been described as one of the few masters of contemporary erotic art, his depictions of the female body, which sometimes verge on fetishized caricature, absolutely overshadow any male figurative art. Hayashi generally depicts men only as their genitals, whereas in general his women have power and dominance and are depicted as whole beings, albeit in a context that owes more to surrealism than more realistic portrayals.
"[He] overturns all current criteria of eroticism and pornography. [Hayashi] plunges us into the abyss of universal pleasure, fulfilling our repressed, suppressed desires" [From the Preface by W. Borowczyk].
