Octavo (22 cm); 304pp. Boards in rust red cloth with white stamping to spine, wrapped in publisher's intact pictorial jacket ($3.95). Black top stain and fore-edge deckled. Jacket generally toned and gently soiled with minor closed tears and light wear to spine ends. Verso toned as expected. Board corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed with light shelfwear to bottom. Top stain lightly faded with minor water staining. Other than spotting to first few pages and last few pages at fore-edge, pages clean. A Very Good or better copy in like jacket.

Halberstam's scarce first novel, described on the inside flap as "a masculine, strong, well-plotted novel about a complicated man." Bookplate signed by Halberstam loosely laid in at front.
