Textblock has foxing and light soiling throughout, and moderate age toning to edges. The half-title page appears to be tipped in when the book was rebound. Features two inscriptions from economic historian and Oxford scholar Max Hartwell to John Hughes, dated '1963', on the front and rear free endpapers (the latter inverted).
