Light foxing to the text block edges and the edges of the cloth binding. In the illustrated dust jacket, which is price-clipped, has light foxing on the rear panel and inside flaps, and has a shallow closed tear along the top edge. The jacket is actually very attractive. Historical work about the west in which Vestal explains how the Missouri river has not only taken on the job of moving dirt in North America, but has also acted as a divide in culture across the states.
