  • Paris: Editions du Seuil, 1987
By [WALTER BENJAMIN] MISSAC, Pierre
Paris: Editions du Seuil, 1987. First Edition. First printing. Octavo; printed card wrappers; 219,(3)pp. A fine copy in the original wrappers. From the library of noted poet-translator Nathaniel Tarn, with his embossed blind-stamp at base of half-title. Text entirely in French.

First publication of this important memoir by Missac, who died shortly before publication. Missac was both a personal friend of Benjamin's before the latter's suicide in 1940, and later a central figure in the preservation of Benjamin's legacy in France, especially playing a key role in shepherding the surviving manuscript of the Arcades Project to publication.
