Four volumes; slim 12mos (15cm); publisher's uniform pictorial paper-covered boards printed chromolithograph with publisher's device discretely mounted to each volume; illus. throughout, including advertisements at front and rear of volume. Moderate wear to margins, bottom inch of spine of "Random Sketches" and "Robert Vincent's Mistake" perished, else a Very Good, bright and sound collection. Titles include:

2. Rev. Arthur Mursell. "Random Sketches."
3. Rev. James Yeames and Emilie Searchfield. "Hugh Bidston / A Tale of Self Sacrifice."

Small cache of four volumes in the Fireside Series, which provided short and easy-to-consume morality tales packaged in cheap but jewel-like bindings. The rear cover of each volume is adorned with a vivid advertisement for Berlin Wool and German Needlework imported by M. Leader. Each volume is also adorned with advertisements for Fry's cocoa extract, Sulphine supplement for indigestion, and the Willcox and Gibbs sewing machine company.
OCLC and Library Hub locate copies at Cambridge only of each title except "Random Sketches," which appears to be unrecorded as of June, 2025.
