By Evans, Max
University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD: Dakota Press, 1972. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good +/Very Good. SIGNED. 92pp. Octavo [22 cm] Brown cloth over boards. Very subtle bumping and rubbing to the spine ends and corners of the covers. In the dust jacket, with sunning to the spine and the surrounding areas of the panels (title still bold on spine), light chipping to the spine ends, and a tiny hole in the surface of the spine. A book about the making of "The Ballad of Cable Hogue." The cast included Jason Robards, David Warner, Stella Stevens, Slim Pickins, and Max Evans. This book is also a tense, realistic, at times poetic study of human nature, of the violence of interaction, of the tensions of isolation, and of the effects of the Western landscape and climate.

Inscribed by the author on the half title: "To our special & talented friends "The Duttons" - with warmest wishes and much respect. Ol' Max Evans.
