By Richard Feynman, Robert B. Leighton and Matthew Sands
Reading, Massachusetts: Addison-Wesley, 1965. Cloth. Very Good +. An impressive example of this seminal set in Physics instruction, as much a Richard Feynman vehicle as anything and here even including its scarce 3 matching exercise booklets. The breakdown is as follows: Vol. I ("Mainly Mechanics, Radiation and Heat") is the June 1963 1st printing, with the accompanying 1964 1st printing of the exercise booklet; Vol. II ("Mainly Electromagnetism and Matter") is the November 1964 stated 2nd printing, with the accompanying 1964 1st printing of the exercise booklet; and Vol. III ("Quantum Mechanics") is the 1965 1st printing, with the accompanying 1965 1st printing of the exercise booklet. 1st printings (except Vol. II, a 2nd printing), all in solid, very presentable condition. All 3 hardbacks, in their trademark red cloth, are bright and well-preserved. Vol. I is in very sharp condition, easily VG+ to Near Fine, and Vols. II and III, which show just a bit of light rubbing to the gilt-titling along the front panels, are also solidly VG+. Vol. III alone shows the small, very discreet stamp of its former owner (Howard H. Brown, Jr.) to the front pastedown and the front free endpaper, and just a touch of writing at a single margin. The other 2 volumes are clean as a whistle internally, with no writing or markings to speak of. And the 3 exercise booklets, all in their stapled light-brown wrappers, are bright and clean, and, improbably, show no writing whatsover on the insides. A touch of wear along the spines but still each is solidly VG+ to Near Fine.
