Very Good binding. 8vo; quarter bound in calf over marbled paper covered boards; with titling and decorations on the spine in gilt; Volume 1, xxiv, 484 pages with 6 folding plates in the rear; lacking the collective tile page; Volume 2, xix, 368 pages; Volume 3, (4) 5-525 pages; the top of the spine is bumped and there is some separation to the joint but the binding is holding well; Volume 4 (6) 7-414 pages; Volume 5, (6) 7-497 pages; Volume 6, (6) 7-452 pages, with 9 folding plates in the rear; Volume 7, (4) 5-509 pages including the index with 12 folding plates in the rear; the joint at the bottom of the spine is slightly cracked but the binding is holding well; Volume 8, (4), 5-431 pages including the appendix with a folding table and 12 folding plates in the rear, the titling is a bit scuffed; Volume 9; (6) 7-366 pages; the set shows signs of wear; some of the corners are bumped; there is some worming to the spines, the pastedowns, and the end papers but it does not run through the text; scattered foxing; some toning; there is an ex-library stamp to the title page and on the last leaf; some have a previous owner’s signature on the pastedown.~~Franscesco Milizia was an 18th century Italian art and architectural historian and critic of the Baroque. These sentiments are illustrated in this 19th century collection of his works. ~. Very Good binding.
