Double Transformation Advertising Van Stan Family Products

N.pl: N.p., 1880. Good. Fold delicate from extensive use.. A scarce example of a "double transformation". Unlike traditional transformations, which only transform one image, this example can change two separate images (front and back) depending on whether the top flap is folded to the front of back. A clever example of humor in marketing. The products advertised here are Van Stan's Emulsion of Cod Liver Oil on one side, and Van Stan's Stratena mending cement on the other side. The first image shows before and after the oil is taken by patients. The second shows before and after two women use the cement to mend a broken vase. Measures approx. 5.5" by 3.25" unfolded, 3.75" by 3.25" folded. Lithographed in green and gold ink.
