New York: Blue Ribbon Books, Inc. / A Burt Book. Very Good. (c.1935). Reprint. Hardcover. (lacking the original dust jacket, but encased in a nice-looking facsimile reproduction of the first edition jacket (a mismatch, but what's the harm?); see 2nd image posted with this listing) [modest shelfwear, some discoloration to endpapers and along front joint, remnants of old price sticker on front endpaper]. Typical Keeler madness, set in Honolulu and Chicago, and involving the protagonist's eccentric uncle, a collector of old safes (as one does), in one of which "had lain the weird secret of the skull of the waltzing clown." Per the jacket blurb, "this new Keeler novel gyrates as dizzily as a sky-writing plane -- except that, at the end, all the strokes in the sky spell Plot, Mystery and Drama -- in that extraordinary Keeler way!" NOTE again that this book bears a FACSIMILE dust jacket, and although it's not a match with this reprint edition, it is a perfect fit and stills serves the dual purpose of protecting the book from further wear and enhancing its appearance on the shelf; its presence has not been factored in to our pricing. .
