[Weston, Massachusetts], Late 18th/Early 19th cent. Fair. Toning, staining, spotting, dust soiling. At least three (3) leaves sometime excised and lacking, and at least one leaf loose.. A book of manuscript notes penned in the late 18th century or early 19th century, containing dozens of mathematical tables. A later pencil inscription on the inside of the upper cover attributes the book to William Swift Leadbetter of Weston, Massachusetts (1766-1848). The use of guineas dates this volume to before 1816 (when guineas were phased out in the Great Recoinage). Given the subject matter, the volume appears to have been kept by the Leadbetter as a volume of class notes in a business or economics class. Single vol. (12.25" by 7.5"), approx. 48 blank pages in original stab sewn plain card binding. Lacking at least three leaves.
