By Walkowitz, A. [Abraham]; Comments by Carl Van Vechten and Konrad Bercovici
Girard, Kansas: Haldeman-Julius Publications, 1948. First edition. Paperback. Very Good. SIGNED. Unpaginated [32 pp] slim quarto [27.5 cm]; saddle-stapled in printed card wrappers. Signed by the artist ("A Walkowitz") in blue ink on the front cover. Some sporadic and light smudging and staining, but still a nice copy. Abraham Walkowitz (1878-1965) was a noted Russian-American modernist painter. This work reproduces many lovely expressionistic paintings, bordering on the abstract at times, of the New York cityscape. All printed in black and white.
